Along with four other activists, Padma-Dolma Fielitz, 21, a Tibetan woman from Germany, staged a protest on Aug. 10th at 3:10pm Beijing time just outside the southern entrance of Tiananmen Square. She unfurled a Tibetan flag and was immediately accosted by plain-clothed Chinese police who dragged her off the street into a public building, knocked her down and dragged her across the floor while trying to wrest the flag from her hands. After the flag was torn from her hands, she boldly confronted the crowd of security officials around her.

Hurrah Dolma la!
You did so great.
Tibetans are NOT Chinese.
Standing up to China - brave woman.
Thank you!
We are indeed proud of you and all those who let the China Communist Regime remind that Tibet issue has to resolve once and for all. Peace loving people of the world wants to see genuine Peace on the Roof of the World.
Tibet is not a part of China!!!! Tibetan people are not Chinese. The genocide of Tibetan people by the Chinese should never be tolerated. Free Tibet will establish Tibet’s right to be free and maintain the Tibetan culture while changing to become a modern society. China’s imperialistic ambitions and West’s tacit approval of such behavior is indeed very puzzling.
Shankar.
Oh, my God. It’s terrible. I think, that China is evil nation :/
Powerful protest. Thanks for your courage and commitment.
Great effort! We all hope that the chinese people will really get the true about what their government is doing in Tibet. Only then, change can happen! Great job for all supporters of Tibet!
Padma-Dolma deserves the deepest respect, not only for having the courage to carry out this incredible feat of bravery, but also for the absolutely impeccable manner in which she “faced off” with the Chinese authorities afterwards, describing in very concise and elegant terms exactly why she was there, and what she wanted from them (namely, the flag of her people back).
KUDOS!
Your voice made a difference, as did your presence in China!

Dear pema la,
thanks immense for being so courageous.we in nepal also due to chinese govt.’s pressure, we been suppressed by nepalese armed police as chinese army had done inside tibet, but still then we are there in front of chinese embassy to fight against our right, so you are kind of model for us so that we altogether can go side by side to achieve our goal.
Bod Gyalo.CONGRATULATION ALL THE WAY FROM ON BEHALF OF TIBETAN SOCIETY IN NEPAL.
Dear christina chang and padma dolma,
what u girls did was awesome , i am greatly inspired and overwhelmed by ur courageous act.. plase keep up the spirit. god bless u.may u girls live long and happy..Thank you SFT. u guys rock…..
Thank you for your bravery, and selfless contribution for Tibet. I am sure this kind of action bears more fruit than sending deligations to Beijing. One billion Chinese needs to know their government must be proactive in resolving the Tibet issue or else it will go out of their control soon.
Its really a source of inspiration for all those who has witnessed it or heard about it …not just for tibetans but also for the chinese citizen that if you are determined enough u can still express what is right no matter how the system(communist) is …for her the very right is Free Tibet …and No one can stop her or all the tibetans from dreaming about it …I honestly thanks every one who is behind this for speaking loud in the lions den “the ultimate DREAM OF TIBETANS”
FREE TIBET
“Tibetans are not Chinese”… well said!!! Thank you Padma la!!!
Dear SFT and especially members who have risked their safety and personal freedom in China:
I am at a Native American Sundance Ceremony in Pennsylvania. The Sun Dance began early this morning, after a lot of preparation and prayer. I wanted you all to know that the 15 Sun Dancers, both male and female, are carrying prayers for freedom in Tibet, and also for the Chinese Government to wake up and make Tibet a zone of peace. I am thankful for their sacrifice and also for all your hard work. Native Americans, particularly the Hopi, and Tibetans share similar ancestry, and in more ways than one, have a lot in common. The Sun Dance will continue for the next three days. The Dancers will go without food and water, and are in a deep state of meditation now. This is a powerful ceremony and I hope it supports all of you in the weeks ahead.

uhm…is Padma-Dolma doing ok, now? I think that those who are trying to protest the Chinese in order to free Tibet need to reconsider your tactics and try to be more self preserving. It’s one thing to be brave and make a statement but the idea is how to make positive change without getting physically hurt. Be brave but think of a strategy that will not put yourself in such a vulnerable position. I hope that Padma-Dolma is doing ok.
dear es, you’ll be happy to know that Padma-Dolma is now home safe in Germany.

I’m Chinese-American, so I know you won’t have the courage to publish my comments.
How about having a dialogue with the common Chinese people while you are in Beijing, instead yelling at them in English. What did that accomplish?? If you speak to Chinese people around the world, you’ll see that 90%+ believe Tibet is an inseparable part of China. The Olympics will be over on Sunday and the real crackdown on Tibet will begin. Did you really help Tibetans in Tibet?? I’m Han Chinese and I totally agree, Tibetans are not Chinese, but Tibet is part on China like Hawaii is a part of the US. I know you don’t like it, but too bad. That’s life.
Dear John, i appreciate you contcacting us. You know we didnt want to endanger people n in C China by talking to them. But you are right the ultimate goal is being able to have a dialogue with “common Chinese”. However yet things dont look safe enough from the side of the government. We know that most Chinese do believe what the government is telling them, so there is no surprise e to the fact that Chinese believe Tibet is a part of China. However this shouldnt discourage us from carrying on in what we believe in and i hope that one day we are able to speak to Chinese citizens openly and freely without fearing brutal consequences. So dont feel offendend. at the end of the day we have to fight for what we believe in. thanks
Well done Dolmala! You did great. Thank you!
This message is for John. I feel sorry for you. Chinese Government has brainwashed you ordinary people. I think you really believe that Tibet was Part of China. Tibet has never been part of China untill 1959. Tibet was full independent Country with its own currency and language. I have never seen any chinese currency in Tibet and nobody spoke Chinese language. The first time I saw chinese was when the Chinese Army and came started killing ordinary Tibetan people without any reason in name of liberation. I have nothing against chinese people but government is different question. They invaded Tibet and killed over million tibetan people without any right. It is like Americans go to Mexico and take over the country and say Oh it is always been part of United States.
